The
Anacardiaceae are a worldwide family of
about 78 genera and 700 species, most of them woody.
The leaves are alternate, without stipules, and often pinnately compound.
The flowers are small and usually actinomorphic (round) with variable
numbers of sepals, petals, and stamens, having a nectar disk interior to the
stamens. Ovary usually superior,
with one ovule per locule. Fruit
usually a lopsided drupe. (With

of Cashews, Mangoes, Brazilian Pepper, Poisonwood,
Poison Ivy, and
Spondias.
