name: Linon means flax in Greek, the name Pentalinon meaning
“five flax.” (?) Luteum means yellow.
Synonym:
This vine is widely known under the name Urechites lutea (L.) Britton
Natural range:
Florida, Caribbean
Recognition:
Differs from true allamandas by having a twining habit and rounded leaf tips.
The flowers are yellow and golden.
Landscape uses:
Drought tolerant, alkaline-tolerant sprawling-climbing-twining vine with bright
yellow flowers. Smaller and less aggressive than Allamanda cathartica.
Toxic and reportedly can cause dermatitis.
