Explanation of name: Generic name for Ole Borch (Olaus Borrichius), 1626–1690, Danish botanist (FNA).  Frutescens means shrubby.

Natural range: Coastal southern U.S., including Florida

Recognition:  Rhizomatous maritime perennial or subshrub having opposite or nearly opposite toothed grayish leaves. Flower heads yellow, moderately showy

Landscape uses:  Aggressively rhizomatous. Tough, space-filling plant for sunny locations.  Attracts butterflies.  Propagate by cuttings or seeds
