Explanation of name:  Generic name from Greek Argos.  The specific epithet presumably refers to foliage of the genus Gnaphalium.

Natural range:  Florida seashore native

Recognition:  Small shrub or subshrub with silvery-gray foliage and small attractive white flowers in a one-sided, curled cyme.

Landscape uses: This small shrub or subshrub is naturally a beach species, with silvery-gray foliage and irregular growth form.  Suitable for maritime plantings, harmonizing with other silver-gray plants, and some native plant gardens.
