Torchwood Family

(The native tree in our area called Torchwood, Amyris elemifera, is in the Rutaceae.)

According to LON, about 16 genera and 600 widespread tropical species of usually dioecious woody plants having alternate pinnately compound leaves. Flowers numerous, small, with a nectar disc, sepals twice as many as petals. Pistil with 3 carpels.
