Recognition: Modest-sized shade-loving shrub with arching branches, spikes of small white flowers, and alternate serrate leaves

Landscape uses: Modest-sized shade-loving shrub with cylindric inflorescences of small white flowers.  At home in moist sites. NE3 notes best flowering with some sun exposure. Forms suckers and rhizomes.
