Explanation of name: Edmond Davall (1763-1798) was a Swiss plant collector. The specific
epithet refers to Fiji. –ensis means "lives in."

Finely dissected fronds and with distinctive thick, furry, creeping rhizome
Landscape uses:
Mostly grown in containers in protected partial shade. Requires ample moisture
but well drained (the species is an epiphyte at heart). Excellent where it can
spill over the sides of a container or basket. Extreme conditions are
trouble. Easy to cultivate from the fuzzy (rabbit's foot) rhizome.
