Scaevola Family

Herbs and shrubs found around the world but mostly in Australia, with one native Florida species.   Flowers usually bilaterally symmetrical and with the corolla slit.  Stamens 5, depositing pollen in a cup beneath the style. Ovary inferior. Fruit often a drupe.
