Tree. Leaves 2-paripinnate, petioled; leafstalk with pubescent spheroid projections between pinnae pairs; pinnae 10-20 pairs; leaflets 10-25 pairs, elliptic to oblong; stipules pinnate, caducous. Inflorescence(s) corymb-like racemes, intercalary to subterminal; pedicels jointed at apex. Calyx nearly separate from sepals, which recurve; corolla zygomorphic with long-clawed petals; androecium of 10 stamens with elongate, scarlet filaments, anthers opening by slits. Legume persistent, subsessile, tardily dehescent, oblong, laterally compressed, woody. Seeds numerous. (ISE)
