Lysiloma
Benth.
Small
glabrate, unarmed trees. Leaves bipinnate; leafstalk gland solitary, petiolar or
between lowest leaflet pair; pinnae 1-4 pairs; leaflets 3-30 pairs, with evident
secondary nervation; stipules often conspicuous on young growth. Inflorescence(s)
whitish heads, fasciculate 1-3 in leaf axils or in short axillary racemes. Calyx
sinuate, scarcely lobed; corolla lobes short; androecium of numerous stamens
with proximally connate filaments. Legume stipitate, dehiscent, oblong, flat;
valves papery, separating from the persistent, wiry margins at maturity. Seeds
several. Antilles and subtropical Florida. (ISE)
