Trees.
Leaves 2-paripinnate, petioled; leafstalk eglandular, rusty- or glandular-tomentulose;
pinnae and leaflets numerous; stipules caducous. Inflorescence(s) terminal,
compound racemes. Calyx nearly separate from sepals, members irregular, reflexed
at maturity; corolla nerely regular, yellow, with pubescent, often distally
frilled petals; androecium with 10 stamens scarcely exceeding petals; filaments
pilose; anthers opening by slits; stigma broad or peltate, conspicuous. Legume
substipitate, indehiscent, persistent, obcompressed and flat, varied in shape
from half-ovate to asymmetrically oblong, samaroid-winged, ultimately coriaceous
to woody, breaking irregularly. Seeds 2-3. Pantropical, about 8 species. (ISE)
