Explanation of name: Pogamia is a native Malayan name. Pinnata means featherlike.

Natural range: Tropical Asia and Australia (BA2)

Recognition: Glabrous tree.  Leaves odd-pinnate with 5 to 7 ovate leaflets, 1-1/2" to 3"long.  Flowers loosely racemose, white or pink, papilionaceous, about ½" long. Fruit flattened but thick legume, 1"-2" long (ISE, WA1)
