of name:
Senna is a Greek work adapted from the Arabic word sana which
means tender tree or shrub.(AUS,PBCC) The Latin word fruticosa
means shrubby, bushy (STE).

Recognition:
Shrub. Leaves pinnate with 2 pairs of lanceolate to elliptic to obovate
leaflets, 3" to 7" long. Flowers yellow, in groups of 8-35, densely packed in
racemes. Fruit round legume, 4"-10" long (BA2, IRW)
