Senna is a Greek work adapted from the Arabic word sana which
means tender tree or shrub. (AUS,PBCC) Siamea means of Siam (PBCC).

Recognition:
Tree. Leaves even pinnate with 5-14 pairs of various shaped leaflets,1-1/2" to
3" long. Flowers yellow, ½" wide, in racemes of 10 to 60. Fruit brown legume,
generally bent at base, pendulous, over 8" long
