Explanation
of name:
Senna is a Greek work adapted from the Arabic word sana which
means tender tree or shrub.(AUS,PBCC) Surattensis means of a region in
Thailand (PBCC).

Tropical Asia, Australia, Polynesia (BA2, ISE)
Recognition:
Shrub or small tree. Leaves even pinnate with 6-10 pairs of elliptic leaflets,
1" to 2" long, glaucous beneath. Flowers yellow, 1"-2" wide, in racemes of 5-
15. Fruit a legume, 3"- 4" long (BA2, ISE)
