glabrate tree. Leaves 1-paripinnate; leafstalk eglandular; leaflets 9-15 pairs,
broadly oblong, emarginate; stipules about 3/8" long, caducous. Inflorescence(s)
intercalary racemes, few-flowered, pendent, about 4" long; bracteoles well
developed, enclosing flower in bud, caducous. Calyx separate from 4 pinkish
sepals that are reflexed or caducous; corolla irregular, 3 petals, pinkish
(yellow and red-striate), about ½" long, marginally crinkled; androecium of 7
functional stamens, basally monadelphous. Legume subsessile, indihiscent,
persistent, oblong, straight or curved, laterally compressed to subterete,
initially succulent, becoming dry, brittle or coriaceous. Seeds few. Africa. (ISE)
