Explanation of
name: For generic name see Crinum asiaticum. Procerus (um)
means very tall (STE).
Taxonomic note:
Treated by some authorities as C. asiaticum var. procerum.
Sometimes 'Queen Emma' is attributed to this species. 'Queen Emma' and 'Splendens'
are similar and probably closely related despite the odd separation into
different species (in some classificaiotns). 'Splendens' has narrower leaves.

Recogntion:
A very large Crinum with purplish leaves and purplish flowers resembling
'Queen Emma' but with narrower leaves.
