By: George Rogers
The Oxalidaceae are a widely distributed mid-sized family with
about 8 genera and 8 species of herbs, shrubs, and trees.
The leaves are usually compound and without stipules.
The flowers are round with 5 separate sepals, 5 separate or nearly
separate petals, 10 stamens, and a 5-parted pistil.
This is the family of sourgrass and woodsorrel (Oxalis),
bilimbi, and
starfruit.
