Sesame Family

A small family of 13 genera and about 60 species mostly in the Old World warm climates.  Mostly herbs with glandular hairs.  Flowers bilaterally symmetrical, usually with 4 stamens and 2 carpels.  Fruits loculicidal capsules, often covered with hooks or other projections (data largely from SMI).
