Hainan, China
Recognition:
Delicate, graceful, upright bamboo with white bloom near the nodes that are
persistent on the culms up to about 1.5” in diameter, these having long
internodes and rising to 30-40’ tall. It is fast-growing and generates many
canes. A very strong, straight, green bamboo with fine leaves, branchless on
the lower half. Its physical appearance is almost identical to
B. textilis,
perhaps a bit smaller, but with harder wood. A superior smaller bamboo. A
favorite for elegance and hi-quality wood.

corner of the yard, or for a hedge or screen.
Other notes:
Resembling and possibly synonymous with B. textilis McClure.
