Buckthorn Family

A small family found worldwide, with some 60 genera and 900 species. Mostly woody and often spiny plants having  alternate (sometimes opposite) leaves tending to have long curving veins (arcuate veins).  Flowers small with the stamens opposite the petals and nested in them. Fruits are drupes (Family data largely from SMI).
