Filicium probably comes from Latin filix, fern. Decipiens
means false.

range:
Tropical Asia, Sri Lanka, probably Africa
Recognition:
Tree with large, once-pinnate frondlike leaves, the central leaf-axis (rachis)
winged; leaflet pairs 6-8, the leaflets notched at the tips. Flowers small,
inconspicuous. Fruit a purple drupe.
