of name:
Brunfelsia commemorates German botanist Otto Brunfels, died 1534 (BA1).
Pauciflora means few-flowered.
Synonym:
Brunfelsia calycina Benth., this often interpreted as a variety of B.

Recognition:
Shrub with alternate leaves. Round-faced, fragrant flowers change color from
blue-violet to white. The name Yesterday-Today-and Tomorrow is applied
inconsistently to different similar species of Brunfelsia.
