Explanation of name: Generic name is ancient. Parvifolia means small-leaved.

Natural range: Asia

Recognition: A usually small elm having short (< 2.5”) leaf blades with once-serrate margins. Fruits coin-like wafers. Bark often with orange-rust color patterns.

Landscape uses: A small elm at home farther north but sometimes planted in South Florida. Weedy and escaped from cultivation (WU1).  Breaks up in hurricanes.
