Recognition:
Erect, sprawling, or climbing shrub with showy flowers that resemble the shape
of a Chinese hat. Large ornamental calyx is circular, up to 1" across, brick red
or orange, the corolla 1" long, dark red and tubular. Best color in the spring.
Fruit a drupe.
