Recognition:
Perennial 1-3’ tall, with nearly globose spikelet clusters usually on long bare
wands.
Easily confused
species:
This species resembles C. retrorsus and has in some classifications been
treated as a synonym. The latter has more-cylindric spikelet clusters, and
40-120 (vs. 10-50) rounded (vs. flat) spikelets.
