Florida abundance and
distribution: roadside, old fields, waste places and disturbed areas in the
Peninsula.
Recognition: Fuzzy weed 3-5’
feet tall with alternate (or opposite) leaves. Leaf blades ovate.
White flowers, tiny and knob-like in leaf axils.
Other: Highly invasive.
Spreads by seed and has an extensive root system.
When attempting to rid area of P. zeylanica, tuber-like root systems will
continue to spread and send up new stems.
