Explanation
of name:
The generic name comes from Greek loma, edge, and andros, male, in
reference to a border around the anthers. The species name means long-leaved.

Plants with the appearance of a large ornamental grass but with small yellow or
creamy dioecious flowers on elongate wands. ‘Breeze’ and ‘Nyalla’ are marketed
in our area. ‘Nyalla’ is a little larger and has more blue in its coloration.
