Explanation of name: For generic name see C. woodsonii. Pulverulentus means powdery.

Natural range: Tropical America, escaped in Florida (WU1)

Recognition: Spiral-Ginger with the inflorescence tapered to a pointed top; bracts red (or green) with fuzzy margins; and the flowers orangish. ‘Pink Lips’ is a dwarf cultivar.

Landscape uses:  Flowering perennial for partial shade and adequate moisture
